After graduating from university with a music degree in 2012, all I wanted to do was eat, sleep, shred, repeat. It turns out life isn’t that easy…

The Early Years

I actually didn’t have much interest in music growing upĀ and wasn’t born into a musical family. So often these stories begin with being born into a family of classical musicians and self-proclaimed wine connoisseurs but not me. It wasn’t until I was around thirteen when I started getting interested in music and in heavy metal in particular. I was fifteen when I got my first guitar, a Westbury Standard which I still have to this day (albeit transformed into a fretless), but I never played a great deal in the early days. It wasn’t for a few years, when I was around seventeen that music, and guitar playing in particular, really took hold of my life.
